Sara Feldman Kuhn
MSW, LCSW, LCSW-C
Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia and Maryland
My approach is driven by the belief that all people deserve a safe, supportive, and empathetic environment where they can be empowered to address life’s challenges. I collaborate with my clients to support them and help them reach their fullest potential. I also work closely with my clients’ families to make sure that the family can have tools to help everyone in the family unit succeed. I offer supportive therapy along with skill building to help people make concrete changes in their lives.
I have 10 years of experience working with children, teens, adults, and families. I have worked with people of all ages in outpatient mental health settings and with kids who were in therapeutic foster care. Through my work experience, I found my niche helping teens and young adults. I enjoy working with high achievers, athletes, people who feel different from their peers, people who are experiencing a mental health issue, or people who are undergoing a change in life circumstances. I love helping parents understand what is developmentally going on with their child at a time when a lot of changes in the brain are taking place. This interest led me to spearhead two programs integrating mental health and physical health in pediatric offices. This experience confirmed my worldview about the importance of the mind-body connection and how outcomes can improve when mental and physical health are treated together.
I received my undergraduate degree in psychology from Emory University in Atlanta, GA, and I completed my master’s degree at the University of Maryland School of Social Work. I see clients in the office in Fredericksburg, VA and online via telehealth in Virginia and Maryland. When I am not working, I enjoy traveling, running, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family.
